About the OSTP

The Oklahoma School Testing Program, or OSTP, is the state's annual assessment for grades 3-8 in math and English. OSTP math is built on the Oklahoma Academic Standards for Mathematics, a state-developed framework that runs parallel to Common Core - it covers the same major topics in a similar grade-by-grade progression but uses Oklahoma's own domain naming and includes a few additional Oklahoma-specific clarifications. Briveli's Common Core-aligned curriculum overlaps strongly with OSTP because the underlying mathematical content - place value, fractions, ratios, proportional reasoning, expressions, equations, functions, and geometry - is essentially the same.

OSTP math is delivered online through a state-contracted platform, with paper accommodations available by request. Each grade's math test is split into two sessions, and total testing time is around 120 minutes per grade. Item types include multiple-choice, multi-select, drag-and-drop, equation editor, hot-spot, and short technology-enhanced items. The Oklahoma State Department of Education publishes an OSTP Test and Item Specifications document each year that lists Reporting Categories, item-count weights, and DOK targets, and Briveli's grade pages are organized to match that emphasis.

Score reports return one of four performance levels - Below Basic, Basic, Proficient, Advanced - along with a scale score and subscores by Reporting Category. Proficient is the on-track benchmark used in Oklahoma's school accountability formula. OSTP results feed the state's A-F school grades and federal ESSA reporting. Families preparing with Briveli should weight practice toward each grade's Major Reporting Categories, which carry the largest share of the items on the test.
