Terms of Service
Last updated: May 5, 2026
By creating an account or using Briveli, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service. Questions? Email hello@briveli.com.
1. The Service
Briveli is an adaptive math practice platform for elementary school students. We provide problem generation, progress tracking, and parent reporting tools. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the service with reasonable notice.
2. Accounts and Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. By signing up, you confirm that you're a parent or legal guardian of any children you add as profiles. You're responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and for all activity under your account.
One account may include multiple child profiles. Each account is for a single household; sharing accounts across unrelated households isn't permitted.
3. Plans and Pricing
Every account starts with a 14-day free trial of Briveli Pro. A valid payment method is required at signup, but you will not be charged until the trial ends. You can cancel at any time during the trial to avoid being charged.
Briveli Pro ($14.99/month or $119/year) includes one child profile, unlimited practice sessions, smart hints when your kid gets stuck, and an endless supply of word problems. Family ($24.99/month or $199/year) covers up to three children with everything in Pro plus a multi-kid parent dashboard. Billing renews automatically on the selected cadence until cancelled.
When a subscription ends (cancellation, failed payment, or expired trial), the account loses access to practice sessions until you resubscribe. Your child's progress and history are preserved.
Prices may change. We'll give you at least 30 days' notice before increasing the price on an active subscription. You can cancel before the price change takes effect to avoid the new rate.
4. Payment and Refunds
Payments are processed by Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis at the cadence you select (monthly or annual).
Subscriptions are non-refundable by default. The 14-day free trial exists specifically so you can evaluate Briveli before any charge is made — cancel at any point during the trial and you will not be billed. See our Refund Policy for full details, including the narrow case-by-case situations we will review.
To cancel, go to Settings > Subscription in your dashboard, which opens the Stripe Customer Portal. Cancellation stops further billing immediately; access continues through the end of the period you have already paid for.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the service to harm, harass, or exploit children
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or copy the problem generation engine
- Create accounts for children who are the account holders (parents only)
- Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the service without written permission
- Attempt to circumvent subscription limits (e.g., creating multiple trial accounts for the same household)
- Upload any content that is illegal, harmful, or violates others' rights
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms without notice.
6. Intellectual Property
All content, design, algorithms, and code in Briveli are owned by or licensed to Briveli. The CCSS-aligned curriculum framework is publicly available; our specific problem generators, adaptive engine, and UI are our intellectual property.
You retain ownership of any content you provide (like a child's first name). By using the service, you grant us a limited license to use that content to provide the service to you.
7. Privacy and Children's Data
Your use of Briveli is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these terms. We take children's privacy seriously and comply with COPPA. The short version: we collect only a child's first name and grade level, we never sell that data, and parents can delete everything at any time.
8. Educational Content Accuracy
Briveli problems are generated programmatically and validated against Common Core State Standards (CCSS). We make reasonable efforts to ensure accuracy, but we don't guarantee that every generated problem is free of errors. If you find an inaccurate problem, please report it at hello@briveli.com.
Briveli is a supplemental practice tool, not a replacement for classroom instruction.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
Briveli is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted service. We don't guarantee specific learning outcomes.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Briveli's liability for any claim arising from your use of the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We aren't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
11. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law provisions. Any disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in San Francisco County, California.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. For material changes, we'll notify you by email at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of Briveli after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
